A new opportunity for a hot bowl of soup is becoming available this winter to those needing a cup of warmth, spiritual uplift, and fellowship. The Shepherd’s In, a new nonprofit, will be serving a free soup meal at the Parsonage in front of the Martin County Historical Society at 304 East Blue Earth Avenue, Fairmont on the following Saturdays: December 29th, January 19th and February 9th. Serving time is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. each date. There is no charge for the meal.

The Shepherd’s In nonprofit was formed in 2018 with a mission to provide assistance that helps people improve their situation. They will accomplish this by operating a soup kitchen; support strong family relationships; utilize nutritious, fresh, local grown food; and support the human mind, body and spirit. “There are so many people in our community that need a moral uplift and a warm meal. We hope to provide that through our work with The Shepherd’s In.” said Curt Moeckel, Founder. “We are beginning our mission with a soup kitchen.” Thank you to the Martin County Historical Society who are donating the use of their Parsonage for our first soup meals. The Shepherd’s In is accepting donations and they can be mailed to The Shepherd’s In, 1446 30th Street, Ceylon, MN 56121 or by giving them directly to Mr. Moeckel. Questions can be directed to theshepherdsin@gmail.com.
