Minnesota health officials reported on Wednesday 669 new cases of the coronavirus and 24 more deaths.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 6,234 people have died because of the virus. A total of 3,946 of those deaths have occurred in long term care facilities.
A total of 463,766 cases have been confirmed in Minnesota since the pandemic began in March of last year. Of those 449,707 people no longer need to self isolate.
The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health show 56 more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and 2,041 new cases have been reported.
The number of new positive tests reported for the time period brings the total of number of positive tests up to 321,536.
The data shows there have been 4,975 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far. Of those deaths, 2,031 were residents of long term care facilities. There are currently outbreaks at 48 long term care facilities in Iowa.
