FAIRMONT’S CITY COUNCIL MAKEUP WAS PARTIALLY FLIPPED AFTER TUESDAY’S ELECTION RESULTS. MICHELLE MILLER UNSEATED INCUMBENT CITY COUNCILOR TOM HAWKINS FOR THE AT LARGE COUNCIL SEAT WITH 67% T0 32% ADVANTAGE.
IN THE RACE FOR 2ND WARD CITY COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE BRITNEY KAWECKI GARNERED 35% OF THE VOTE BEATING OUT OUT JOE LOUGHMILLER WHO HAD 31 % OF THE VOTE AND INCUMBENT COUNCILOR RUTH CYPHERS HAD 20% OF THE VOTE. RON LINDBERG FINISHED WITH 12%.
INCUMBENT 4TH WARD COUNCILOR WAYNE HASEK RETAINED HIS POSITION WITH A 61% TO 38% OF THE OVER CHALLENGER AND FORMER COUNCILOR TERRY ANDERSON.
