$15,000 Grant Awarded to Truman Ambulance
TRUMAN — Truman Ambulance has received a $15,000 grant from the Fairmont Community Hospital Foundation to purchase a specialized bariatric cot, one of the few available in southern Minnesota. The ramp and winch system can safely handle patients weighing up to 1,600 pounds and is designed to reduce lifting and improve safety for both patients and emergency personnel. The cot has been in service for about a month. Because similar equipment is rare in the region, Truman Ambulance is also available for requests from surrounding emergency services. The grant is also the first collaboration with Truman Ambulance since the foundation expanded its support to include nonprofit healthcare organizations throughout its service area.
