The Fairmont Martins will open their Class C Amateur Baseball Tournament run on Saturday, August 19th. The Martins journey north to Litchfield to take on the Hutchinson Huskies, first pitch scheduled for 1:30 p.m. The winner of that ballgame will take on the Hinckley Knights on Saturday, August 26th at 4:30 p.m., at a site to be determined.
Other area teams also qualifying for the tournament include the Blue Earth Pirates, who take on the Stark Longhorns on Sunday afternoon in Delano, the Jackson Bulls, who meet the Green Isle Irish on Saturday afternoon in Delano, and the Hadley Buttermakers, set to take on the Elrosa Saints Saturday afternoon in Dassel.
