CREST is launching a Low Vision Support Group that provides reassurance and assistance to people living with vision related problems. You are free to share what’s bothering you and learn about ways to combat and/or live with low vision. You are not alone! Working together can make our lives much brighter.
This Monday, April 25th, the Low Vision Support Group will meet at the CREST office at 820 Winnebago Avenue in Fairmont at 1:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Meghan Wendt from the Minnesota State Services for the Blind. She will address various disease processes leading to reduced vision and will demonstrate assistive devices that are available from the State of Minnesota at no charge.
A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at Martin Luther High School, Northrop on Monday, April 25 from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the National Honor Society. To make an appointment please go to redcrossblood.org.
Fairmont residents who would like to grow their own garden, but do not have adequate space, can sign up for a free garden plot with Rural Advantage. Garden plots are 20 x 20 feet. Once plot designation is completed later this spring, the plot is the individual or families to care for the balance of the growing season. Each family plants, cares and harvests their own plot. The garden plots are located at Heritage Acres on the west side of Lake Sisseton.
Fairmont Community Gardens are private garden plots in a community space. If you would like to have a plot in 2022 or just have questions contact Rural Advantage at 238-5449 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Leave your name, phone number and email.
