The Minnesota Department of Health reported on Thursday 995 new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. The total number of cases in Minnesota is 93,012.
There have been 3 additional deaths associated with COVID-19, putting the state’s death total at 1,988. Deaths among cases that resided in long term care or assisted living facilities increased to 1,435.
A total of 83,862 people have recovered statewide and no longer require isolation.
The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting a surge in new positive COVID-19 tests on Thursday, with 1,341 new cases reported, as well as 6 more deaths. Fourteen Iowa counties, mostly in northwest Iowa, now have a two week positivity rate over 15%.
The statewide death toll from COVID-19 is now at 1,299. Of those who’ve died, 676 were residents of long term care facilities.
The 1,336 new cases increase the statewide total number of Iowans who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus to 83,347 with 61,456 considered recovered from the virus.
There are currently 305 Iowans hospitalized, including 79 in the ICU and 37 on ventilators.
