FARIBAULT COUNTY HAS 18 NEW CASES. TOTAL CONFIRMED 241.

Minnesota Health Officials reported 7,877 new coronavirus cases and 72 more deaths.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 3,082 people have died because of the virus.  A total of 2,117 of those deaths’ have occurred in long term care facilities.

A total of 219,906 cases have been confirmed in the state since the pandemic began in March.  Of those, 198,365 people no longer need to self isolate.

The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting the deaths of 38 more Iowans from COVID-19 and the positive test results of another 4,195 people.

The number of new positive tests pushes the statewide total of those who’ve contracted the virus to 198,674.  Of those, the state considers 112,778 to be recovered from the virus.

The statewide death toll from the virus is now 2,102 Iowans.  Of those who have died, 971 were residents of long term care facilities.

There are currently 1,516 Iowans hospitalized with COVID-19, a decrease of 11 patients from Wednesday’s record high, 286 of those patients are in the ICU and 135 are on ventilators.
