Minnesota health officials reported on Wednesday 1,237 new cases of the coronavirus and 34 more deaths.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 5,979 people have died because of the virus. A total of 3,810 of those deaths have occurred in long term care facilities.
A total of 449,492 cases have been confirmed in Minnesota since the pandemic began last year. Of those 432,738 people no longer need to self isolate.
The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health show 62 Iowans have died from COVID-19 and 1,335 new cases have been reported.
The number of new positive tests for the 24 hour period, brings the number of new positive tests to 307,568.
The data shows there have been 4,394 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far. Of those deaths, 1,806 were residents of long term care facilities.
As of Wednesday, there are 474 hospitalized patients with the virus in the state, down 490 from the previous day.
