Minnesota health officials on Sunday confirmed 388 new cases of the coronavirus, raising the total number to 27,886.

The updated report includes 16 deaths from COVID-19, for a statewide total of 1,186, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

Health officials said 949 deaths have occurred among residents of long-term care facilities.

A total of 3,367 people have required hospitalization. Of those, 450 remain in those facilities, with 199 in intensive care.

Nearly 23,000 people were marked as no longer needing isolation.

Martin County now has 137 confirmed cases fo the coronavirus. Active cases 8. Recovered cases 124> covid deaths 5.

Faribault County has 23 confirmed cases. Active cases 9. Recovered cases 14. Current known hospitalizations 3.

Watonwan County Public Health is reporting 3 new COVID-19 positive cases.

Watonwan County currently has 83 MN Department of Health confirmed positive cases of COVID-19.

Iowa health officials are reporting 5 more deaths linked to the coronavirus outbreak and 151 new cases of the disease caused by the virus.

The Iowa Department of Public Health said Sunday that 602 people have died with COVID-19 in the state and 21,589 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the state since the outbreak began.

Nearly half of Iowa’s coronavirus cases are located in four counties: Polk, Woodbury, Black Hawk and Buena Vista.

State officials report that 12,764 of the 21,589 people who tested positive for the virus have recovered from their illness. The total number of people tested is 187,341.
