On Saturday evening, the Clay County Sheriff‘s Office apprehended 48-year-old Michael Daniels of Dickens, who was wanted for several warrants. The arrest came after a short foot pursuit, initiated by a deputy of the Sheriff‘s Office.
Daniels had a warrant out for his arrest on charges including Interference with Official Acts, Theft in the 1st Degree and Driving While Barred. The deputy attempted to take Daniels into custody, but he fled on foot, leading to a chase. However, the chase was short-lived as Daniels was apprehended shortly after.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Daniels had stolen a vehicle from Story County earlier that day. The stolen vehicle was found not far from the location where Daniels was apprehended.
As of now, Daniels is being held in the Clay County Jail, pending an appearance before the magistrate. The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with any additional information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
