Fairmont City Council will interview five candidates for city administrator in May.
Baker Tilly of St. Paul, municipal advisers, offered brief background sheets on the five candidates, with only education and work experience listed.
They include:
Joseph A. Gaa , most recently city manager of Chariton, Iowa, from 2014-2018; and city administrator of Dickinson, N.D., from 2018 to present.
Shawn W. Henessee, most recently county administrator of Marinette County, Wis., from 2015-2017; city administrator of Pleasant Hill, Mo., from 2017-2018; and county manager of Clark County, Wash., from 2018-2020.
William R. McCabe, most recently he has served as city administrator for three Minnesota communities: Red Lake Falls from 1999-2001, St. Charles from 2001-2005 and St. Augusta from 2005 to present.
Cathleen M. Reynolds,most recently document review attorney for Kroll Ontrack of Eden Prairie from 2016-2018; and operations manager for the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District from 2018-2020.
Larry J. Thompson, most recently city manager of Winona in 2011; and chief executive officer of American Artstone Co. from 2012-2019.
The finalists were selected Monday from an original field of 28 applicants in a three-month process.
