The Fairmont City Council Monday night officially approved Cathleen Reynolds to be the next City Administrator. Ms. Reynolds is an experienced public administration professional with a proven record of leadership, change management and strategic planning, combined with a background in law. She will officially begin as Fairmont City Administrator on May 20.

Interim City Administrator Mark Sievert sent Mayor Foster his letter of resignation effective yesterday due to a personal situation. In light of Sievert’s resignation and the new City Administrator not beginning her position until May 20th, the council approved to work with Flaherty and Hood to create a satisfactory agreement with Public Works DirectorTroy Nemmers to act as Interim City Administrator from May 12 to May 19. Mr Nemmers acted as Interim City Adminstrator before Mark Sievert was hired.
