(Fairmont) About 30 area emergency responders have completed 40 hours of crisis intervention training in Fairmont. The Minnesota Crisis Intervention Team training focused on recognizing mental health symptoms, communication and de-escalation. Fairmont Police Chief Mike Beletti says the goal is to help agencies work together to resolve crises safely while minimizing the use of force. A grant covered the training costs for all participants.
