THE FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL BOARD TUESDAY CANVASSED AND APPROVED THE RESULTS OF VOTING FROM LAST TUESDAY’S SCHOOL BOND REFERENDUM FOR $6,730,000 FOR EXPANSION OF THE VOCATIONAL WING AT THE FAIRMONT JUNIOR-SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. TOTAL VOTES CAST WERE 1,286. THE REFERENDUM PASSED WITH 868 YES VOTES AND 418 NO VOTES THE BOARD AND SUPT. JOE BROWN THANKED THE VOTERS AND THOSE WHO WORKED TO PROMOTE THE RFERENDUM PASSAGE.
THE BOARD ADOPTED A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ADMINISTRATION TO CONSIDER THE NEED FOR AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR POTENTIAL BUDGET RFEDUCTIONS AND/OR TERMINATION OF STAFF FOR THE COMING SCHOOL YEAR. SUPT. BROWN SAID HE DID NOT FORESEE THE NEED FOR REDUCTIONS FOR THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR BUT ADOPTING THE RESOLUTION WILL ENSURE REQUIRED STEPS HAVE BEEN TAKEN SHOULD THE SITUATION CHANGE.

THE BOARD ACCEPTED A DONATION OF A MASSAGE CHAIR- A 200 VALUE- FOR THE FAIRMONT ELEMENTARY WELLNESS ROOM.
