Iowa counties named disaster areas

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for Kossuth, Emmet, Lyon, and Palo Alto counties as the result of recent severe weather. It allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from recent storms and activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program for qualifying residents, along with the Disaster Case Management Program.

Residents of the impacted counties are also asked to report damage to help local and state officials get a better handle on the magnitude. That can be done online at homelandsecurity.iowa.gov.
