Fairmont Track & Field opened their season on Friday with an indoor meet at Myers Field House in Mankato. Top Cardinal performers on the day included:

 

Boys

60 meter dash – Jeremiah Lebbi was first with 7.1, Elijah Johnson and Nolan Schultze tied for 3rd with 7.3

400 meters – Ethan Siebring 3rd 1:01.3

800 – Carter Hanson 2nd 2:13.9

60m hurdles – Jaron Schutz 2nd 9.6

4×200, 4×800, and Medley Relay teams all placed first

Oliver Tordsen won the shot put with 53′ 11″

Ty Tumbleson was 2nd in High Jump, Triple Jump and Long Jump

Ethan Pockrus won the Triple Jump 37′ 11″

Jase Meade was 2nd in Pole Vault

 

Girls

100 meter dash – Natalia Johnson won with 8.4

200 m – Kennedy Becker won with a 28.9

400 m – Harper Artz won with 1:01.6

4X200 and 4X400 relays placed first

Ellie Ortega won shot put with 36′ 8″

Emilia Klanderud 2nd in High Jump

Ellie Perkins 2nd in Pole Vault

Mollie Leiding and Jadyn Montgomery tied for 2nd in Triple Jump

 

Big South Conference Boys Basketball All-Conference honorees include Fairmont Senior Oliver Tordsen and Junior Logan Junkermeier.

 

 

Local College Athletes update

 

Fairmont’s Eli Anderson is batting at a .250 clip through 19 games with Purdue. He’s started 7 of the 19 games he’s played in, with one double, one triple, and 6 RBI so far. Eli is 7 for 10 in stolen base attempts so far for the Boilermakers.

 

Lincoln Becker, a redshirt Freshman at North Iowa Community College, leads the Trojans team so far this year in at-bats and is second on the squad in hits, RBI, and walks. He’s hitting .310 on the season so far.

 

Jacob Crissinger is back on the mound after missing last season with an injury. So far this year at NIACC he has a 4.02 ERA in 15 and 2/3 innings with a record of 1-3. He’s struck out 25 batters and walked only 5 working out of the Trojans’ bullpen.

 

Tegan Livesay is a Sophomore on the Southeast Missouri State softball squad. She has a 2-2 record with a 3.76 ERA in 9 appearances so far this year, with 23 strikeouts and only 8 walks in 32 innings pitched so far this season. The Redhawks are 13-11 this year, competing in the NCAA Division I Ohio Valley Conference.

 

Nevaeh Rahm just completed her freshman season on the court for Ridgewater College in Willmar. She led the Warriors with 12.6 points per game and field goal percentage, hitting on 56% from the field and was second on the team with 7.3 rebounds per contest.

 

Landen Meyerdirk is a Sophomore at the University of Minnesota-Morris and is leading the way for the Cougars on the diamond this spring. Landen is hitting .347 with 14 RBI in 16 games this season, and has swiped 10 bases in 11 attempts. UMM is 5-11 so far this year with a 2-1 mark against UMAC conference opponents.
