THE MARTIN COUNTY BOARD TUESDAY APPROVED AN ADMINSTRATIVE AGREEMENT WITH MINNESOTA VALLEY ACTION COUNCIL FOR THE 2021 MARTIN COUNTY SUMMER YOUTH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES A SUMMER YOUTH WORK EXPERIENCE FOR YOUTH RESIDING IN MARTIN COUNTY. TAMMY HESTED FROM M V A C INFORMED THE COMMISSIONERS ABOUT REVISIONS TO THE PREVIOUS CONTRACT INCLUDING : COMPENSATION TO WORKERS INCREASED FROM $10.50 PER HOUR TO $11.50; EXPANDED AGE ELIGIBILITY TO 25 DUE TO COVID SEEING YOUNG ADULTS STILL COMPLETING COLLEGE AND EXPANDED NUMBER ABLE TO SERVE FROM 14-15 INTERNSHIPS. MARTIN COUNTY HAS BUDGETED FUNDS FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THIS SUMMER INTERNSHIP EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM IN 2021 IN THE AMOUNT OF $55,000.
THE ASSESSORS OFFICE HAS RECEIVED AND ACCEPTED COMPLETED SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING TAX ABATEMENT APPLICATIONS FROM TWO FAMILIES. THE BOARD APPROVED A PUBLIC HEARING DATE FOR TUESDAY APRIL 6,2021 BEGINNING AT 10 AM AT THE COURTHOUSE, COMMISSIONERS MEETING ROOM ON THOSE PROPERTIES.
THE COMMISSIONERS ALSO SET A WORK SESSION ON THE PROPOSED JUSTICE CENTER PROJECT FOR THE APRIL 6TH MEETING.
