In a much-awaited announcement, state officials declared that all one-time tax rebate payments have been successfully distributed to Minnesotans.

According to the state Department of Revenue, a staggering $1 billion has been returned to taxpayers through these payments. Over the past 45 days, a total of 2.1 million direct deposits and paper checks were sent out to residents, providing much-needed financial relief.

These one-time payments were made possible by the state‘s budget for this year, which was signed by Governor Tim Walz in May.

The distribution process began in mid-August with the first batch of direct deposits being made. The final round of checks was mailed out on September 27, marking the completion of the distribution process.
