In light of deferring elective care appointments, Mayo Clinic Health System will temporarily suspend operations at four regional part-time clinics in TrimontTrumanSherburn and Armstrong, Iowa, effective March 23, 2020. Each clinic is normally operated two days per week or less.

The suspensions are necessary to reallocate staffing resources to other critical care needs in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

“We are temporarily suspending operations at these clinics to redirect important resources to where they are needed most,” says Marie Morris, M.D., Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont medical director. “During this interim period, our patients will continue to have options to receive care that includes necessary clinic visits at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, virtual video visits with local providers, or our 24/7 Nurse Line and Express Care Online.”

Patients should call 507-238-8500 to inquire about virtual video visits with a provider.

Jennifer Langbehn, D.O., Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James medical director, said the same is true of the Trimont clinic.

“During this unprecedented outbreak, staff and resources will be deployed to best meet the needs of the service area,” says Dr. Langbehn. “Mayo Clinic Health System will continue to assess the situation and patient demand at all health system sites.”

Patients who have upcoming clinic appointments scheduled will be notified. Nearby locations to receive care locally include Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont and St. James.

If you are showing any sign of possible COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath), you’re asked to call first before presenting to a health care facility. If you meet testing criteria, you will be directed to a local testing site.
