THE FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL BOARD APPROVED HIRING THE WILSON LAW GROUP TO HELP EXPEDITE THE THE PROCESS OF HIRING TWO PROSPECTIVE E L L INSTRUCTORS FROM CHILE WHO ARE VERY MUCH INTERESTED IN COMING TO FAIRMONT TO TEACH. THE HOPE IS THE TWO WILL OBTAIN WORK VISAS IN TIME TO START IN THE POSITIONS THIS FALL,BUT THAT IS YET TO BE SEEN.
THE BOARD APPROVED THE HIRING OF ELIZABETH LOWRY AS AN E B D TEACHER. SHE HOLDS A MASTERS DEGREE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION FROM ST. MARY’S UNIVERSITY. KATHARINE ELDER HAS BEEN HIRED TO REPLACE AMBER SEIBERT AS AG TEACHER.KATARINE GRADSUATED THIS SPRING WITH A B.S. DEGREE IN TECHNICAL EDUCATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY.
ARIEL PEYMANN HAS BEEN HIRED AS A STUDENT ADVOCATE REPLACING THE DEAN OF STUDENTS POSITION THAT WAS HELD BY TRACI LARDY WHO WILL BE MOVING TO THE POSITION OF Q-COMP INSTRUCTIONAL COACH,PREVIOUSLY HELD BY RETIRING TEACHER PAM BROLSMA. BESIDES MRS. BROLSMA FOUR OTHERS WERE HONORED BY THE FAIRMONT SCHOOL BOARD ON THEIR RETIRMENTS. SPECIAL ED PARAPROFESSIONAL MARY EDMAN, ART TEACHER KIM KOPPEN,SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER JEFF NAUMANN AND ELEMENTARY TEACHER CINDY VIESSELMAN.
