TUESDAY FEBRUARY 9, 2021 IS SPECIAL ELECTION DAY FOR THOSE RESIDENTS OF THE 2ND DISTRICT FOR THE MARTIN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AND ALSO RESIDENTS OF THE FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IS HOLDING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR APPROVAL OF A $6.73 MILLION DOLLAR BOND REFERENDUM FOR A VOCATIONAL EXPANSION PROJECT.
MARTIN COUNTY 2ND COMMISSIONERS DISTRICT VOTERS WILL BE CHOOSING BETWEEN JIM FORSHEE AND JAMIE BLEES FOR THE SEAT ON THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS VACANT SINCE THE PASSING OF TOM MAHONEY JR. LAST YEAR.
POLLING PLACE FOR THE COMMISSIONERS SEAT AND PRECINCT 1 IN THE THE FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT (WHICH INCLUDES THE CITY OF FAIRMONT,CITY OF NORTHROP, FAIRMONT TOWNSHIP, FRASER TOWNSHIP, PLEASANT PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP,ROLLING GREEN TOWNSHIP AND SILVER LAKE TOWNSHIP) IS THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HALL AT 920 EAST 10TH STREET FAIRMONT.
THE POLLING PLACE FOR PRECINCT 2 OF THE FAIRMONT AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT (WHICH INCLUDES CITY OF CEYLON,LAKE BELT TOWNSHIP,LAKE FREMONT TOWNSHIP,MANYASKA TOWNSHIP AND TENHASSEN TOWNSHIP) IS THE OLD CITY HALL AT 112 MAIN STREET IN CEYLON.
