THE FAIRMONT MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM WAS HELD AT THE FAIRMONT KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HALL ON MONDAY. THE PROGRAM ARRANGED BY THE MARTIN COUNTY V F W POST 1222 AND LADIES AUXILIARY AND FAIRMONT AMERICAN LEGION POST 36 AND LADIES AUXILIARY. KEYNOTE SPEAKER WAS ERNIE NUSS WHO TOLD OF WAR EXPERIENCES OF SOME MARTIN COUNTY VETERANS, AND HOW THEIR SERVICE HELPED MAKE THE COUNTY A SAFE PLACE TO LIVE TODAY.

KAITLYN FREESE GAVE THE FLANDERS FIELDS PRESENTATION. GIRL AND BOY SCOUTS WERE PART OF THE PROGRAM AS WELL.

ERNIE NUSS CONCLUDED HIS ADDRESS WITH A FAMILIAR REFRAIN, THAT FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.
