BREAK IN- EDIES

Fairmont police say they have arrested two 14-year-old juveniles in connection with a burglary at Edie’s Restaurant downtown on April 14. Both have been charged with third-degree burglary, according to Police Chief Michael Hunter.

He noted that the arrests stem from a police investigation into 15 instances of graffiti vandalism that occurred in Fairmont this past weekend.

GRAFFITI

Numerous properties on the north end of Fairmont were the victims of graffiti vandals on Saturday night. Fairmont Police Chief Mike Hunter said Monday. “Charges are pending coming out of the investigation and reports.”

Hunter stressed that the incidents remain under investigation, with information being forwarded to the County Attorney’s Office for formal charges against a group of juveniles.

He confirmed that 15 locations, including the skate park, Immanuel Lutheran Church and many homes, sustained graffiti damage, which was reported Sunday morning after happening sometime Saturday night.

Police say anyone who locates additional damage or has other concerns that have not yet been reported should contact the police department.
