A FAIRMONT WOMAN WAS INJURED AFTER BEING STRUCK BY A VEHICLE JUST AFTER 11 PM ON SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE INTERSECTION OF PARK STREET AND FIRST STREET. A CAR DRIVEN BY 20 YEAR OLD STEVE AUSTIN THOMPSON OF CEYLON ALLEGEDLY STRUCK 51 YEAR OLD KERRY ANN ZAPATA OF FAIRMONT WHILE CROSSING PARK STREET. ZAPATA INITIALLY STATED SHE DID NOT WANT MEDICAL SERVICES BUT SHE WAS EXAMINED THEN TRANSPORTED TO TO MAYO CLINIC HEALTH SYSTEM-FAIRMONT BY MAYO CLINIC AMBULANCE FOR A POSSIBLE BROKEN LEG AND POSSIBLE FRACTURED PELVIS. STEVE THOMPSON WAS CITED FOR FAILING TO YIELD TO A PEDESTRIAN IN A CROSSWALK.
