Everyone is invited to come out for the Martin County Relay for Life on Saturday at the Martin County Fairgrounds, Fairmont. Survivor registration is from 3-6:55 p.m. in the hockey arena. The Bee Kays begin playing music at 4 p.m., with a silent auction to be held 3-6:55 p.m. in the hockey arena. There will be a pork patty or pork chop-on-a-stick supper from 5-7 p.m. with the opening ceremony set to begin 7:30 p.m. on stage. The luminaria ceremony will start around 9:30 p.m. and the closing ceremony will take place at midnight with a lap of silence and a balloon release. Proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society to help in their fight against cancer. So come out on Saturday to celebrate with the survivors and to honor and remember those who have lost their battle with this disease.
